Complete package CD Rom including application for distributing to clients such that materials and parts can easily be referenced and ordered from a large number of manufacturers (19 so far in this demo - Flymo, Atco, Qualcast, Hayter etc ), ( and therefore a variety of formats e.g differing databases and imaging ).

Selecting from lists and Gif / TIFF / PDF images index linked with parts and models, and pricing. Imaging commoned to PDF, ( all other formats converted to this type ), and the Adobe ActiveX component pdf42.ocx incorporated into the program. Several collection points for costing for estimates, orders, purchasing history, Vat totals etc are incorporated. Screen cam shot presentation available to clients for demo and tuition on CD. CD configured to load and run automatically, using ini file creation to allow registration of user on a once only basis.
 

Access / Paradox tables are used having converted csv’s, dat, txt files to this format using custom built Delphi parsing programs of my design. SQL queries involve complex joins and therefore TUpdateSQL used to obtain runtime running totals etc. Total prototyping & application written by self. Fifteen forms at present but written to be extended as more manufacturers listed. Table size records maximum to date around 160,000 using master/detail methods to link on querys. All data linked to common DataModules ( 2 – one for Price Files, the other for static data ).

Email capability added from within the project using specially modified Email components. Upgraded to Delphi 4 Pro to accommodate access to Web site and COM/DCOM with a view to on line web activity ( ActiveX ) by clients. BDE was coded for live interaction by clients to base server which was tested on a local web server, deploying the BDE with the database to create an interactive interface to clients with CGI post methods. All operations, design, code, in Delphi4 and all originated and created by Maxirad. Considerable use of OO methods to avoid too many code repetitions and to use object references in such as array, as , is statements. Total size of project currently around 180 Mb including data.
